Credit for Prior Learning Opportunities

Technical Colleges, Apprenticeships, & Clock Hours
Students who completed eligible FLDOE Career and Technical Education, registered apprenticeship, or Broward College Continuing Education programs may receive college credit toward approved Broward College Associate of Science programs.
Industry Certification and Licenses
Broward College awards credit for approved industry-recognized certifications and licenses across many fields, including Computer Information Technology, Health Sciences, Paramedic, FAA Pilot Licenses, and additional career areas.
Prior Learning Assessment Program
Developed primarily for working adults, the PLA process during the Fall and Spring terms recognizes the academic value of what students have learned through experiences outside the traditional college classroom.
Standardized Credit-by-Exams
Students may earn credit through standardized examinations that demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and competencies in specific subject areas aligned with approved BC courses or program requirements.
