All advanced and specialized training courses offered by the Institute of Public Safety Division of Professional and Executive Development are open to Florida Certified Law Enforcement officers, corrections officers or qualified support staff for mandatory and salary incentive credit as defined in Florida Criminal Justice Standards Training Commission Rule 11B-35.006.
Effective January 1, 2020, Trust Fund classes will require a minimum of 16 Broward County Region XIII officers registered to avoid the class being cancelled. 
 To register for these courses, officers must coordinate seating through their agency’s training department.

The Bureau of Professional Development within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has created professional, comprehensive, and interesting online training courses that satisfy the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission’s (CJSTC) mandate for officer re-certification. These courses include the four mandatory topics, Juvenile Sexual Offender Investigation, Discriminatory Profiling & Professional Traffic Stops/Human Diversity, Domestic Violence, Physiological Response Dynamics Training Video (however no training hours will be given for this course) and other courses of interest to law enforcement personnel. All training hours are free and eligible for use toward the CJSTC 40 hour mandatory retraining requirement.

Elective Training Courses:

Non-FDLE Members: Should you wish to have a certificate generated for completed training, you may turn your quiz results page in to the person designated by your agency to enter records into the Automated Training Management System (ATMS) and a certificate can be provided to you by that designee.

ATMS USERS: If you are designated by your agency to enter records into ATMS, you can use your ATMS login to access the FDLE Online Training Certificate System. Links to the instructions page and the online training certificate system are below.
FDLE Members: Once you have completed an online course, print, sign, and date the quiz results page. Then, turn your quiz results page into your program or regional training coordinator to be entered into Pathlore.
FDLE Training Coordinators: Once you receive a member's quiz results page enter it into Pathlore and then submit it to Susan Coker if it is from a sworn member or Danielle Santiago if it is from a non-sworn member so that a certificate may be generated.

Credit toward Sheriff's Salary Supplement:
All training hours listed under "Elective Training Courses" that have not been used for Mandatory Retraining credit may be used toward Sheriff's Salary Supplement. Mandatory Retraining Topics may not be used for Sheriff's Salary Supplement. These online courses may not be repeated for salary supplement credit for a period of at least 3 years. The Multi-Agency Homeless Taskforce is offering the “Homeless Outreach Team Specialist Certification” course on February 17-21, 2020.  The course is being held at the Davie Police Department Training Room.  This 40-hour course is open to sworn and non-sworn personnel.  The cost is $100 and to register for the course please contact Officer Marla Rogers at 

A “Traffic Control Officer for Civilians” class is being held on March 30, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In this 8 hours course the student will learn the definitions of traffic control devices and traffic signals.  The student will comprehend conditions which require traffic control.  The student will comprehend the correct placement an officer should stand while directing traffic and the correct hand signals.  The student will apply these techniques in directing traffic.  Participants must bring with them to class a whistle and a safety vest. The class will be held at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus of Broward College at the Institute of Public Safety.  The cost of the course is $45.  You can register for the class using the Training Authorization and Registration Form.  The form can be faxed to 954-201-6305 or
