About Our In-kind Donation

Another way that Broward College assists local nonprofits and community organizations are through in-kind donations. Broward College will give priority to organizations that align with our four partnership priorities; however, we will base the decision on the type of opportunity being requested.

At least eight weeks of lead-time prior to the event is required to submit an in-kind donation request.

Examples of in-kind donations include:

Goods: Meeting/auditorium/classroom/retreat space.
For more information about our available event spaces, visit Facility Rentals

When the College is able to underwrite an in-kind space request, the space rental will be provided free of charge; however, any direct cost associated with the event would be charged to the requesting organization if the event occurs out of standard hours of operations or during the weekend.

Some examples of direct cost include:

  • A/C Fee
  • Maintenance Fee
  • Custodial (may be applicable for large events even if within standard hours)
  • Campus Safety Officer (may be applicable for large events even if within standard hours)
  • Police Detail (may be applicable for large events even if within standard hours)

The campus scheduler will provide you with an estimate on those costs to determine if you would still like to use the space. Please note that should the date and time be available, the College will be able to cover the rental fee of the room. However, there may be other direct costs associated with using the room that the College will not be able to pay for during non-business hours (AC, custodial, security, etc.). Additionally, please know that you will be asked to provide a Certificate of Insurance listing Broward College as additional insured for the date of your event.
