FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (October 10, 2014) – Broward College’s Visual & Performing Arts Department will present an entertaining and engaging theatrical performance of Howard Richardson & William Berney’s “Dark of the Moon,” at Broward College’s A. Hugh Adams Central Campus Fine Arts Theatre, 3501 S.W. Davie Road, Davie, from Thursday, October 23 through Sunday, November 2. The powerful performance, which is a mix of fantasy and folklore, tells the story of a young witch boy and beautiful girl, who are disliked and resented by superstition townspeople because of their happiness, which ultimately leads to violence and tragedy.
"An outstanding Broadway and London hit. “Dark of the Moon” is a powerful fantasy in a setting of the Smokey Mountains. It achieves that rare combination of being spectacular and at the same time intimate and intense. Its 'hillbilly' dialect has the strange moving poetic quality of a folk ballad," said Players Magazine.
“Dark of the Moon” will take place for two consecutive weeks on Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., and on Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors and non-Broward College students. For additional information, visit https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/34355
