Candidates for the U.S. Florida Senate seat are scheduled for a one-hour debate at Bailey Hall on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus of Broward College in Davie, Fla. The event was organized by Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association. Emmy award-winner Todd Dermott, WPBF anchor, will moderate.

The Broward College Visual & Performing Arts presents a Theatre Main Stage Production of “Seasons Greetings.” The performance will feature the work of Alan Ayckbourn, an Oliver Award and Tony Award winning playwright whose credit includes 80 plays. “Broward County High School Art All-Stars” Exhibition Opening Reception

The Memorial Healthcare Lecture Series, named to honor of retired president and CEO Frank Sacco, will launch its inaugural season with the topic, “From AIDS to ZIKA:  Balancing Public Health Emergencies and Patient Centered Care.” Panelists will include Dr. Ken Goodman, PhD, FACMI; Dr. Paula Thaqi, MD, MPH, director Florida Department of Health, Broward County; Kimarie Stratos, JD, senior vice president and general counsel, Memorial Healthcare System; Dr. Michael Hurlburt, PhD, assistant professor of philosophy and medical ethics, Broward College; and Marty Kiar, Broward County Mayor. Led by the world-renowned theater artist and director Teo Castellanos and backed by one of Miami’s most well-known DJ’s, Brimstone 127, the Combat Hippies is a group of military veteran performing artists. Broward College, CareerSource Broward and Mission United will host the 2016 "Paychecks for Patriots" career fair on Wednesday, November 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Omni Auditorium on Broward College North Campus. The Vet Center, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) from the Department of Defense, Broward County Board of Commissioners, Veterans' Service Officers and veteran support organizations are scheduled to be on hand.  More than 70 “veteran-friendly” employers will be looking to hire. 
 
“Future Environments” Visiting Artist Series: David Nyzio

The “Future Environments” visiting artist series continues with David Nyzio, who will host a free lecture on the relationship between art and biology and science and nature. Broward College Hosts 2016 Hackathon

For the second year, the Broward College computer science department hosted the 2016 Hackathon competition. Over the course of 24 hours, young technology enthusiasts from universities and colleges across the county were challenged to develop new software programs. Team Use-Full won “Best Overall” for their recycling website and mobile application, called Waste Naught, which provides innovative ideas for individuals and communities to create new projects from unwanted or old products.
