  • The NWF Campus Ecology Mini-Site 
    Part of the National Wildlife Federation, Campus Ecology supports efforts to transform the nation's college campuses into living models of an ecologically sustainable society, and is training a new generation of environmental leaders.
  • ClimateEdu : News for a Green Campus 
    ClimateEdu is a bi-monthly online newsletter by the NWF that covers campus projects that are breaking new ground in climate action and sustainability. Each issue includes a mix of resources, book reviews, tools, editorials and event listings. Click above for a free subscription.
  • Second Nature

  • The National Library for the Environment | CRS Reports 
    The National Library for the Environment posts the most recent Congressional Research Service (CRS) reports online. Covering topics spanning the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species, the conservation Reserve Program, Global Change, Fishery Conservation and Management, etc., these CRS documents report on a wealth of current environmental information.

    An encyclopedia of information about every known plant and animal in the world developed by the University of Florida, United Nations, & the Natural History Museum of the Smithsonian.
  • eNature 
    Provides field guides to 4,800 plants & animals, complete with photos and information. Enter your zip code for a custom field guide to local species in your area.
  • The Encyclopedia of Earth 
    An electronic reference about the Earth, its natural environments and their interaction with society; the encyclopedia is a free, expert-reviewed collection of articles written by scholars, professionals, educators and experts who collaborate and review each other's work. The articles are written in non-technical language and are extremely useful for students and educators as well as the general public.
  • The Lady Bird Johnson Native Plant Network 
    This prestigious Wildflower Center's Native Plant Information Network allows you to search for native plant info by traits or names, browse through a collection of 25,364 plant images, and even ask questions to be answered by their resident horticulturalist.

    An organization devoted to preserving plants, animals and natural communities with an excellent website offering diverse and intriguing articles on everything from natural conservation to climate change. Check out the locator map to learn about conservation projects throughout the world and receive details on how to visit preserves, help restore natural area, and take guided walks through wildlife refuges and more.
  • The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service 
    This organization is committed to "Conserving the Nature of America" and provides articles on wildlife conservation efforts around the country as well as an endangered species list and links to affiliated conservation organizations' websites.
