Dr. Richard Pulido takes on the role of Vice President, Student Services, after serving as a full-time Broward College professor of education and president of the Faculty Senate. He has dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to education and describes himself as a lifelong learner.

Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Pulido attended high school in the Bronx and John Jay College of Criminal Justice – City University of New York (CUNY). He later relocated to South Florida in the early 1990s to complete his Bachelor of Arts in History/Education at St. Thomas University. He went on to earn both a Master of Science in Education/Social Sciences and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

During his career, Dr. Pulido has served as a high school social studies teacher, head basketball coach, secondary and higher education administrator, successful businessman, and Vice Mayor in his hometown. His work has focused on community engagement, philanthropy, youth education, student success, and supporting foster children and homeless populations.

He has served on numerous private, government, and nonprofit committees and boards and has been a sought-after consultant and conference presenter in community engagement, public affairs, and student success. Dr. Pulido’s greatest passion is helping individuals realize their educational potential, recognizing that education has been the most significant part of his life journey.
