Broward College is pleased to announce the opening of the Environmental Science Bachelor of Science Program's Teaching and Demonstration Garden.
Location:
Broward College Central Campus
3501 SW Davie Road
Davie, FL 33314
The Garden is located on the west side of the campus on the grass adjacent to Building 6/Fine Arts Theatre.
Students, faculty, staff, and the general public are welcome to walk through the Teaching Garden and learn about the plants within. The Teaching Garden is meticulously tended by program students and new plants are regularly introduced into the exhibitions.
The Garden encompasses 3 broad themes:
The World/Medicinal Garden
The Seasonal South Florida Garden
The Naturescape Demonstration Garden
The Teaching Garden could not have been made possible but for the generous support and gifts of The Gardening for Good Fund, Deborah Griffith, Drs. David and Esther Serrano, and the partnership of Naturescape Broward.
Please do not introduce plants or organic material into the Garden or leave items on College grounds unless specifically authorized. For plant donations or more information, please contact Dr. David Serrano at 954-201-6401 or DSerrano@broward.edu.
Please do not take cuttings, samples, or off-shoots of any plants found in the Teaching Garden. Most plants in the exhibition are available for sale at local nurseries.
