The Broward College community is grateful that we were spared the direct impact of Hurricane Dorian and have been able to resume normal operations relatively quickly. Unfortunately, our neighbors in the Bahamas did not fare as well.
Many of us have seen the heartbreaking images of Hurricane Dorian’s effect on the islands, resulting in loss of lives and extensive infrastructure damage. Our thoughts are with the people of the Bahamas, many of whom have friends and relatives right here in South Florida and at Broward College.
We have been in contact with local leaders and organizations who are coordinating relief efforts to find out how we can best help the people of the Bahamas during this difficult time. We will share information on coordinated relief efforts as it becomes available. If you would like to contribute now to the relief efforts, consider donating to reputable relief organizations, including those listed below, or another charity of your choice.
