Helping People Live Healthier, Better Lives
The pharmacy professional provides extensive service to patients and the community. Filling prescriptions and recommending over-the-counter medication are only two aspects of the daily life of a pharmacist. Patients seek advice when they detect a medical problem. The pharmacist can assess a patient's ability to care for himself or herself or determine if the patient should be referred to a different healthcare provider. Most importantly, pharmacists monitor the outcome of the use of medication—improvement in patient health or the detection of side effects and drug interactions. Patients interact with pharmacists in a variety of healthcare settings—not limited to hospitals, community pharmacies, and physician offices.
The Educational Experience Pharmacy students become experts in the disease process, medication selection, and dose adjustment in compromised patients. The College of Pharmacy emphasizes applying knowledge and skills to assess and monitor the treatment of disease. Student-learning activities are online, in the classroom, in simulation labs, and in real-life practice settings. Faculty members and preceptors educate students to communicate with and optimize care for, diverse patient populations and disease states.
The NSU Experience All students are involved in leadership development, student organizations, and community engagement—such as immunization and health care screenings. Students participate in fund-raising activities for patient groups or join mentoring services on campus. In addition, student pharmacists represent the university at professional meetings and participate in a special legislative day where they meet with state politicians to advocate for the profession. Faculty members are experts in their field and provide opportunities for students to be involved in research and publications. Career planning is essential for the NSU College of Pharmacy students. They gain knowledge from faculty and clinical affiliates as they learn about, and prepare for, careers after graduation. Faculty members don't just teach, they mentor students in their growth and guide them to rewarding career paths. NSU College of Pharmacy provides a dynamic, diverse learning environment where students from around the world come to receive a world-class education, develop lifelong learning skills, and become leaders in their field.

Thank you for contacting the USF Office of Admissions. We know you have many options for continuing your education and we are excited you are considering USF as a pathway to your future.
The University of South Florida has a 2+2 agreement with Broward College, guaranteeing admission with an Associate of Arts (AA) from a Florida College System institution. The transfer GPA must be ≥ 2.0.
Please note that some majors have limited access. This means the major requires prerequisites to be completed before transferring. In some instances, a higher GPA may be required as well. Transfer requirements for USF's selective majors may be found here. Please note the College of Engineering requires that all prerequisites be completed at the time of application.
We recommend that transfer students planning to earn a Bachelor's Degree at USF complete an AA rather than an AS to ensure their courses all transfer to USF seamlessly.
In addition, USF has extended scholarship for transfer students.
