The TRIO Talent Search ASPIRE/REACH at Broward College is a free pre-college program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education designed to identify qualified youth in the 6th - 12th grades at target schools in Broward County with the potential to enroll in postsecondary school after high school. The program is designed to help students navigate their educational pathway and plan for postsecondary success. Our goal is to improve academic performance, increase motivation, expose students to college campuses, promote financial literacy, and facilitate transitions from one level of education to the next.

Objectives

  • Familiarize participants with the college selection, admissions, and financial aid application process
  • Assess and guide participants' interests in professional careers
  • Increase the financial literacy of both the students and parents
  • Teach participants how to explore careers and colleges
  • Improve their school performance
  • Motivate participants to maximize their academic and personal potential
