Field experience is a valuable educational tool that provides students with an in-depth look inside the classroom and exposes pre-service teachers to the various teaching methods of Broward County Public School educators. Your badge must be current during the semester(s) in which you are completing field placement.
FieldPrint Fingerprinting is the only provider for BCPS Security Badges. No other agency will be accepted. Please use the following codes when prompted.

Email a clear picture of your badge (in JPEG or PDF format) to edufieldplacement@broward.edu
In the email, the Subject indicates Badge Submission (Last Name). Include your name, course(s) requiring field experience including the ID and Reference Number, which can be found on your schedule. Insufficient emails will be sent back.
Once you completed the steps outlined above, proceed with the next steps by selecting your current status from the options below.
Register for Field Experience on the Field Experience site.
All TEP students should choose "Broward College-TEP" in the "University" drop-down bar.
Please print the Cooperating Teacher Handbook and provide your cooperating teacher with a copy to review on the first day of your placement.
Students MUST upload the completed Field Experience Reaction Form to the appropriate courses in Livetext.

Please complete the background check authorization form and email it back to lora@jasouthflrorida.org. They will process the background check once received. Please complete our Volunteer Registration form.
Option 3 complete field experience hours virtually as assigned by your professor

Please print the Lower-Division Cooperating Teacher Guide and provide your cooperating teacher with a copy to review on the first day of your placement.
Field Experience Reaction Form
If you are a North Campus student enrolled in EDF1005 and/or EDF2085, please use the Junior Achievement Reaction form.
A Junior Achievement staff member must sign the form after each visit and at the conclusion of your final visit.
Lower-division EDF1005 and EDF2085 students MUST submit the completed Cooperating Teacher Reaction Form to each individual Professor by the established deadline.
Please complete the background check information form (ADD the attached FORM HERE) and email it back to lora@jasouthflrorida.org. We will process the background check once received. Please complete our Volunteer Registration form.

Out of County Placement
Students conducting Field Experience out of the Broward County area are responsible for securing their placement with a Clinical Educator within their Subject Area (FLDOE approved Statement of Eligibility). Once secured, email the Field Placement Office, edufieldplacement@broward.edu, with the school site. principal's email and cooperating teacher's contact information. Please note the teacher will need to show proof of Clinical Educator Certification and 3 years of teaching experience. Placement will be confirmed with the School Principal.
These steps must be completed before the deadlines below. The inability to secure placement and provide proof by the assigned deadline may result in the failure of the course. Please proactively communicate with your advisor, Leo Julien, or the Field Placement Office, edufieldplacement@broward.edu, if you should experience any difficulties.
Field Experience Hours conducted at Place of Employment
Students conducting Field Experience within their place of employment are responsible for securing their placement with a Clinical Educator within their Subject Area (FLDOE approved Statement of Eligibility). Once secured, email the Field Placement Office, edufieldplacement@broward.edu, with the school site. principal's email and cooperating teacher's contact information. Please note the teacher will need to show proof of Clinical Educator Certification and 3 years of teaching experience. Placement will be confirmed with the School Principal.

Yes. You will still need to obtain a vendor badge; however, you will use the code above and pay $7.50 for your vendor badge.
Badges can be picked up 5 business days after you are fingerprinted. It is not guaranteed you will receive a confirmation email. Please visit our website for location and pickup times. Questions about badges can be directed to Ana Alvarez (aalvarez@fieldprint.com).

Once a school accepts your placement, it will change from “Awaiting K-12” to “Placed” on the field experience website. If the process takes longer than 5 business days, contact the Placement Office at edufieldplacement@broward.edu. Once you are provided the name of your cooperating teacher you have 3 business days to email this individual to introduce yourself and schedule your hours.
No. Preferences are only considered for student teaching. All placement assignments are within in Broward County Public Schools. Students are not permitted to request specific schools. Requests will not be granted. Students are not guaranteed a placement in the same city in which they reside. However, every attempt is made to keep placements within a 10 mile radius from the zip code provided upon registration. No changes will be granted to field placements for reason of distance. Students are not guaranteed a placement in the grade level/subject area they prefer. Placements are made in relation to the specific course requirements.
