Advanced Technical Certificate
Mammography is a specialized imaging technique that employs ionizing radiation to produce high-resolution, multidimensional breast imaging displays of soft tissue. The Mammography Program at Broward College provides radiologic technologists with the opportunity to expand their mammography knowledge while earning an Advanced Technical Certificate.

The Mammography Advanced Technical Certificate is designed for working professionals who hold a current professional credential from the ARRT in Radiography and a State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Radiation Control license. Applicants must have completed an A.S./A.A. degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. This is a limited-access course of study that requires an application for admission based on the above entrance requirements. Selection for admission is based on a point system listed below.

The maximum number of points that an applicant can be awarded is 50 (this includes Military points). * Military Service - Applicants who have served in the US Armed Forces on active duty and honorably discharged veterans will be awarded an additional 5 points. Due to enrollment limitations, meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. If you are not admitted, you will need to reapply during the next appropriate application acceptance period. |

Program applicants who have prior criminal proceedings, disciplinary actions taken by a state or federal regulatory authority or certification board, and/or honor code (academic) violations should initiate an Ethics Review Pre-Application process with the ARRT prior to starting the program. This review process is done to avoid potential denial of eligibility to take the exam or delays when applying to take the certification exam. Applicants should visit the ARRT website for further information. To successfully progress through the mammography, and advance technical certificate, students must achieve all cognitive, affective, and psycho-motor objectives.
