For the Internship Edge Program, Broward College defines an internship for college credit as any short-term faculty-led, supervised work experience specifically related to a student's declared major, for which a student earns academic credits and can be paid or unpaid. Students pay the standard tuition rate for a three (3) credit internship course. Students are required to complete 144 work hours and all internship course assignments to complete the three (3) credit course.
Students can search for paid internships that are not tied to a faculty-supervised course by logging into Handshake and searching for internship opportunities. In this platform, students can quickly and easily search internship postings and connect with employers looking to fill qualified positions.
Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional projects that are open to all college students and recent graduates. From working directly with an entrepreneur to supporting a large enterprise, you'll have the opportunity to explore different roles and company cultures in a way that fits into your schedule. These projects allow you to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build your networks as you seek the right full-time role.
Career Placement Specialists assist students in job placement beyond job boards, helping them identify and secure internships. Appointments can be made through Navigate or employmentsolutions@broward.edu
